If you do you not ensure that your gutters are clear of debris and are able to properly direct that water away from your home then you increase your homes chance of water damage. The main function of the gutters around your home are to collect the water that is falling around your home and direct it to an outside area that is not near your home foundation.

It is recommended that you have your gutters cleaned by professional at least twice a year. It is possible to clean your gutters yourself but for your safety make sure you use protective eye wear, dust mask and a spotter, along with tools to remove the debris.
